The Project Struggles to Continue

We’ve spent a lot of time and effort into this project and doing our best to keep everyone updated on it. If some of you didn’t know or haven’t been reading the news updates, there was an conflict with the Metropolitan Control District and they had us take the ramp down off the hill we were built upon. So now we’ve decided to build our own hill in the Jason Huewe’s backyard, but doing this is putting us over our budget and will take us a lot longer to finish.

SO if anyone feels like they would like to help or contribute, please send us a donation via the Paypal button on the main page. Anyone who donates $10 or more will get their name listed in the credits of the DVD and here on the website, if they would like. Its our way of saying thanks! 

Live Webcast for The Scoff Project? 

Scoff is looking for a company that would like to work with us during “Jump Day” on The Scoff Project, to do a live webcast over the net so everyone can catch this epic session! So if you or your company would be interested please email us at theproject@scoffskateboarding.com

The Scoff Project in Line Up Magazine

Line Up Magazine a surfer/skate/artist mag from the east coast just published a nice half a page article on The Scoff Project! There distributed worldwide, if you want to catch your own copy you can find them at skate and surf shops around the east coast or just hit up you local Boarders or Barnes N Noble and look in there magazine isle!

RIDE The Scoff Project Video Contest

So for a month and one week we had the contest running and you guys sent in your video. We like to thanks everyone that participated and GrindTv for hosting it also. So without further ado here’s the top 10 video that won an invite to Jump Day!

February Updates

Theres a few new updates on the Scoff Project page! Check them out, we are scheduled to start building the landing bank this Saturday and finish the building by end of February. Hopefully our camera guys stick through and we can get this done! Birdhouse joins The Scoff Project

Birdhouse has just joined on with Scoff and is now sponsoring and supporting The Scoff Project documentary film! Were glad to have these guys join us and backing our project. No word yet on if any pros will be coming to hit it yet.

What's new with Najera?

Ruben Najera, has been making his rounds lately and putting himself out there not only in the skateboard community and helping support the scene but going Hollywood on us! Recently being in 2 music videos (including Aiden, and Radars to the Sky –Wave Goodbye to the Sun) a world wide ad in Transworld Magazine for Struggle Skateboards(December Issue)

GrindTV.com joins the Scoff project as a media sponsor. Big thanks to GrindTV for supporting the Scoff Project film! We appreciate it! Now most of you probably haven’t heard of GrindTV.com and then again maybe you have. We’ll I’m here to let you know their a legit and pretty darn sick website. Nearest thing to compare them to is if Myspace and Youtube had a child obsessed with action sports, this would be it would be them.

They have a lot of rad things on there, a lot of your own videos get featured, your profile gets ranked on how popular it is by the amount of times your videos have been seen,  also photos, and how many people visit your profile. Plus you can play SKATE on there! Its sick, you can win free swag for winning the game also! So check it out, there doing really cool things and are supported by many pros throughout action sports!

New Place to Chill on the Website

In light of resurrecting the Scoff Project, well it never officially died it just took a long break. We are dedicating it its own page on the website. This new area will include released photos from the documentary film, along with updates on the progress of our mini-mega ramp. So check it out the history of the building of a mini mega ramp starting back in January 2007. It’s on the menu where the Forums link use to be. The second week of building begins this weekend, so keep your eye out for updates here on the website along with some narly photos.

Its Been A While Since We Last Updated

Hey everyone sorry about not keeping you guys updated lately. A lot of things have been happening around here. Including my grandfather dieing of a heart attack in June, working on releasing our new product line for this fall, and getting the Scoff Project movie together, along with a whole nother mess of things. So here is what’s been happening with Scoff Skateboarding lately.

Doug hits the Mountain.

So over the summer Doug has practically been ripping up Magic Mountain. Skating demos as a job! How sick is that getting paid $16 hr to skate. If you haven’t had the chance to visit Magic Mountain and watch him Ride the Mountain, I suggest you all get your asses up and check it out. His last day skating there will be this upcoming Friday the 17th. Not long till its over, so hurry up!

Yul at Damn Am

That’s right Scoff Am Brendan Yul will be hitting the DamnAm for his second time. An age older this cat has learned a few new tricks and isn’t afraid to show them off. Starting the 8th through the 10th amateurs from all over the US will be competing for top spots and bragging rights. Keep an eye for him while you’re there or on the live webcast on June 10th provided by 411 if and when he makes it to the semi-finals and best trick contest. Check out his profile on our team page.

Doug and Ruben Ride the Mountain

Scoff Ams Doug Des Autels and Ruben Najera entered Six Flags “Ride the Mountain YouTube Contest” just weeks ago to be picked the 1st and 2nd top picks for the second round. Unluckily only the top pick won there entry. Doug will be skating with the Audio Demo team at Six Flags when they open 3 plazas for the demo teams to skateboard. Doug will be at the Magic Mountain for a week demo to all the spectators. How often does everyone get to skate the inside of Six Flags and not get arrested! Congrats are in order to both Doug and Ruben. Dates to be announced, we’ll post them here as soon as we know. In the mean time you can check out there Myspace at www.myspace.com/ridethemountain.

Scoff’s contest ended the 6th of April and we didn’t get enough videos that made the cut for what we were looking for to test the new laces. We had 4 winners!

Congrats to Ty Sano, 20 yrs old, for winning the contest. He rides for his local shop TX Asylum and for LLAMA Unit Clothing. So far the new Camouflage laces are standing up well to the tests we’ve been throwing at them, if everything goes well you should see the New Camo and Rasta laces coming out in time for Back to School. That’s right you heard it Rasta Skatelaces!

Scoff Article
Now that’s what you may have seen see everywhere else but here’s what went down with Scoff Skateboarding. Our Am, Doug Des Autels was supposed to arrive early in Phoenix that Friday, to set up and skate the course beforehand to get his feel for it and find his lines. But little did he know that when he came to check into the airport, an hour before his flight security would be so tight that he would miss his flight.

Doug was stuck on standby in LAX for over 12hrs! Jason was already in Phoenix with his rep Alex and a few of her hooligans. They waited for the call to see when he would be coming in, soon to find out that all immediate flights would not let him on. We decided to finally go on and sign Doug up at the park and make sure he was down for tomorrow. We had no clue when he might get in. Much later that night we got the call from Doug, he caught a flight around 11:30pm we finally picked him up from the Phoenix Airport around 1 in the morning. Then lost ourselves on our way back to the hotel and didn’t find our way back till 3! Thanks to Alex for the directions and the lady in the Super K for the beef jerky! We were pretty damn hungry.


We got a solid 3-4hrs worth of sleep that night before waking up again and heading over to the Phoenix Am. Doug was excited and ready to skate. He hadn’t skated over the past 3 weeks cause he was sick. The course was covered in puddles of water, because it had rained the night before and now the world was wet. Thanks to the guys brooming the course and getting the water off and soon after the sun came blazing out and dried up the rest of the rain.




Noseslide Nollie Heelflip So now its time, Doug was in the first heat, about 7 riders later it was his time. He threw a few tricks down the hubba and across the euro gap, landing a good 4 solid tricks. In-between heats him amongst all the other skaters would skate from one side to the other hitting a few tricks, before the next persons run. Doug was working on a noseslide to nollie heelflip out and enlisting the help of our personal batch of Scoff wax, he was able to pull it off.

Now Doug’s second run was approaching fast and he was ready to roll, tired, but still amped about his run he starts it off with a nosegrind down the hubba. Then just cruises to the end of the course. Something wasn’t right, his leg cramped up…and he couldn’t finish his run. That was the end of his heat for the rest of the day.


We hanged around for the rest of the heat and later left to go find some spots. We found this one sick ledge that was painted lime green! On 51st Ave north of Indian School Rd. It’s was a great ledge but hard to grind. So if you’re hitting it up bring the good wax with you and butter it up. After skating it we hit a few parks and went back to the Am contest and found out Doug took 86th place out of 110 skaters. Not to bad.


We were tired and went back to our hotels. I think I could see the hookers outside our windows as we pondered what would happen if we went up to them and offered half of a cold pizza. Well needless to say, it didn’t happen, man what a week!

We are very proud to present our newest creation. The Scoff website, we wanted to make it slightly more interactive and without over powering it. Just packing it with even more sick content! In the future we are planning to support Scoff Skateboarding Podcasts! So you can throw them up on your iPod, along with backgrounds for your cells and more killer stuff you can use to rock the Scoff! The Online store is currently down, but the Roxo Boardshop online store will be picking us up shortly! Rebuilt from the ground up, we would like to thank our friend Matt Nygren, for his dedication to building the newest version of this site. If you need a new website hit him up here.
